What precautions should be taken when maintaining a trenchless drilling rig?

I. Daily Maintenance Key Points
1. Equipment Cleaning
After daily operation, thoroughly clean the drill rod, drill bit, and drill body from mud and oil to prevent corrosion (focus on cleaning the power head gearbox and hydraulic line connections).
Inspect the pilot drill bit for wear. Blade wear exceeding 3mm requires immediate replacement.
2. Hydraulic System Inspection
Check the hydraulic oil level (the center line on the dipstick indicates normal operation) and observe whether the oil is emulsified or contains metal particles. Test the hydraulic cylinder for smooth operation. If oil leakage exceeds 5 drops/minute, replace the seal.
II. Key Component Maintenance
1. Power Head Gearbox
Replace ISO 9001 every 50 hours. VG220 gear oil should be replaced after the first 100 hours of use. Monitor gearbox temperature and noise levels, and immediately shut down and inspect any abnormalities.
2. Hydraulic Power System: Replace hydraulic oil after the first 500 hours, and every 2000 hours thereafter (reduced to 150 hours in dusty environments). Clean the hydraulic oil filter regularly to prevent oil line blockage.
3. Drill Pipe and Guide System: Calibrate the guide probe signal strength weekly. Any deviation >5% requires return to the factory for adjustment.
III. Lubrication and Seal Management
1. Lubrication Specifications: Fill moving parts such as the power unit bearings and slewing bearings with NLGI oil daily. Grade 2 grease
Check the chain drive system for tightness every 50 hours; replace if severely worn.
2. Seal Testing
Wipe the hydraulic pipe joints with white paper; if there is no oil stain, the condition is acceptable.
Mud pump shaft seal leakage > 10 mL/minute requires replacement.
IV. Special Operating Conditions
1. Harsh Environment Operation
In high-temperature/dusty environments, the oil change interval may be shortened by 20%-30%, and the hydraulic oil filter replacement frequency may be increased.
2. Long-Term Outage
Drain the hydraulic system and inject nitrogen for protection. Fill the drill pipe bore with rust-inhibiting oil.
V. Operating Instructions
Before starting, run the system at no load for 3 minutes to check whether the hydraulic system pressure is stable (normal value is 12-15 MPa).
When reaming, maintain a mud density of 1.1-1.3. Leak-proofing agents may be added to clay formations.
