Drill pipe plugging: The drill bit of a horizontal directional drilling machine is propelled through the drill pipe. If there is a blockage inside the drill pipe, it will not be able to transmit power to the drill bit, making it unable to work. The reason for the plugging of the drill pipe may be the accumulation of dross at the bottom of the well, the bending of the drill pipe, etc.
Drill pipe breakage: During horizontal directional drilling operations, the drill pipe may break due to overload or operating errors, which will cause the drill bit to fail to work. The reason for the fracture of the drill pipe may be the quality of the material, the aging of the drill pipe, etc.
Abnormal drilling fluid: Horizontal directional drilling rigs need to use drilling fluid for cooling and lubrication during drilling operations. If abnormalities occur in the drilling fluid, such as mud instability, abnormal mud level, etc., it will affect the normal operation of drilling tools.
Complex bottom hole formation: In horizontal directional drilling operations, the complexity of the bottom hole formation may cause the drill bit to fail to work properly. For example, encountering situations such as top sand layer and collapsed formation will cause drilling difficulties and even cause the drill bit to get stuck.
Drill failure: The failure of the drill itself can also cause the drill to not work properly. For example, circuit failure, pump failure, drive system failure, etc., will affect the operation of the drilling rig.
