How to judge whether the cooling system of High Speed Horizontal Drilling Rig is normal?
Jan 15, 2025| 1. Coolant level
Inspection method: Observe the coolant storage tank in the cooling system, and the liquid level should be within the normal scale range. If the liquid level is too low, there may be leakage or excessive evaporation.
Judgment standard: The coolant level should be kept between the minimum and maximum level marks of the storage tank.
2. Coolant temperature
Inspection method: Check the temperature display instrument of High Speed Horizontal Drilling Rig, or use an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature of key parts such as radiator and engine.
Judgment standard: Under normal working conditions, the coolant temperature should be stable within the working temperature range specified by the equipment. Generally speaking, the normal working temperature of the coolant of High Speed Horizontal Drilling Rig is between 80℃-95℃. If the temperature is too high, there may be a fault in the cooling system, such as radiator blockage, water pump failure, etc.; if the temperature is too low, it may be a thermostat failure or excessive heat dissipation of the cooling system.
3. Cooling fan operation
Inspection method: When the drilling rig is running, observe whether the cooling fan is operating normally. It can be judged by listening to the running sound of the fan or directly observing the rotation of the fan blades.
Judgment criteria: The cooling fan should automatically turn on and off according to the coolant temperature after the engine is started. When the coolant temperature rises to a certain level, the fan should start to run, and the running sound should be stable, without abnormal vibration and noise.
4. Radiator condition
Inspection method: Check whether the appearance of the radiator is damaged, deformed or blocked. You can touch the surface of the radiator with your hand to feel whether its temperature distribution is uniform.
Judgment criteria: There should be no obvious damage and deformation on the surface of the radiator, and there should be no debris blocking between the fins. After the drilling rig has been running for a period of time, the temperature of the radiator should rise evenly, without local overheating or overcooling. If there are traces of coolant leakage in the radiator, it means that the radiator may be faulty.
5. Water pump working condition
Inspection method: Check whether the belt of the water pump is loose or worn, and listen to whether the water pump has abnormal noise when running. The working condition of the water pump can also be indirectly judged by observing the circulation of the coolant.
Judgment criteria: The water pump belt should be moderately tensioned, without obvious looseness or wear. The water pump should make a steady sound when running, without any abnormal friction or knocking sound. The coolant should be able to circulate normally. The temperature difference between the radiator inlet and outlet pipes can be used to determine whether the coolant circulates well. If the inlet pipe temperature is high and the outlet pipe temperature is low, it means that the coolant circulation is not smooth, which may be a water pump failure.
6. Cooling system pressure
Inspection method: Use a special cooling system pressure tester. After the engine is turned off, connect the tester to the pressure test port of the cooling system to measure the pressure of the cooling system.
Judgment standard: The cooling system should maintain a certain pressure during normal operation, generally between 1.0-1.5 bar. If the pressure is too high, there may be a blockage in the cooling system or a poor seal of the radiator cap; if the pressure is too low, there may be a coolant leak.
